The Arcamira emblem: an ornate keyhole, lit from within.

About

The Record

There is, in the marginalia of certain unread manuscripts, a reference to an object older than the reckoning of nations. Antiquarians have described it as a coffer, a mechanism, a reliquary, a plaything for some child no adult remembers bearing. The descriptions do not agree. They were never intended to.

What returns, across every fractured account, is the aperture: a keyhole shaped for no key that was ever forged of metal.

Its name, when the correspondents dare set it down at all, is Arcamira.

Those who have looked through it report differently, and yet identically: a geometry that will not resolve, an air that has not moved in ages before speech, and (infrequently) knowledge. Sciences the world has misplaced. Engines that ought not turn. Certainties long demoted to superstition. A very few report nothing at all, and were not the same afterward.

It admits no forcing. It observes its own hour. The archive that follows is only a record of its openings, transcribed with as much restraint as the material allows.
